Christopher Koury

A Tucson man, who punched his then-girlfriend in the face while she was nursing her infant child last year, was convicted of aggravated assault.

Christopher Koury was convicted by a jury Thursday of kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft and burglary, according to the Pima County Attorney's Office.

Koury has a sentencing hearing June 17 before Pima County Superior Court Judge Michael Butler.

Officials said that last year Koury went looking for information about his girlfriend. He broke into a home and found his girlfriend "sitting on the couch nursing her infant child."

Koury then punched the victim in the face, grabbed her arms and pulled her from the couch, officials said. He took the victim's phone and left the house.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy County Attorney Sterling Struckmeyer.Β
