Three people, including a DPS trooper, were injured in a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Orange Grove Road Thursday.

The three-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m., said Trooper Kameron Lee, a Department of Public Safety spokesman.

Two people were taken to a hospital for unknown injuries, said Lee. He said the state trooper also was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.

The left westbound lane is closed as well as the left shoulder. The closures are expected for several hours while officers investigate the crash, Lee said.

As of 7 p.m., traffic traveling west on I-10 was backed up to Prince Road.

No further information was immediately available.
