A Pima County jail inmate who walked away from a work crew Saturday has been located and taken into custody, the sheriff's department said Tuesday.

Sarah Herrera, 22, who was serving time on a misdemeanor trespassing and shoplifting charges, was located hiding in midtown by members of a fugitive investigative team. She was taken into custody without incident.

The fugitive team was acting on a tip when they found Herrera.

Herrera walked away from a work crew March 19, the Pima County Sheriff's Department says in a news release. She had served four of her 18 required days in the jail when she escaped from the crew working at the Pima Animal Care Center, authorities say.
