Authorities are looking for a 23-year-old inmate who escaped from the Pima County jail Tuesday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m., deputies responded to the jail at 1270 W. Silverlake Road to a report of the escape of Noah Pizano, according to a Pima County Sheriff's Department news release.

Pizano was being held on felony warrant for organized retail theft, drug paraphernalia, false reporting and multiple warrants, said Deputy Cody Gress, a sheriff's department spokesman.

Pizano is described as a Hispanic man with a neck tattoo. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black curly hair and brown eyes.

Pizano was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and dark blue jeans.

Tucson police officers and sheriff's deputies are looking for Pizano in neighborhoods around the jail, which is near South Mission Road.

By Tuesday evening, the sheriff's Fugitive Investigative Strike Team took over the investigation and search for Pizano.

Authorities ask anyone who has seen Pizano or has information about him to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
