A man who escaped from the Pima County jail on Tuesday is back in custody less than 24 hours later, officials said.
Noah Pizano, 23, escaped from the Pima County Adult Detention Center, 1270 W. Silverlake Road, shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday, where he was being held on felony warrant for organized retail theft, drug paraphernalia, false reporting and multiple warrants, said Deputy Cody Gress, a sheriff's department spokesman.
"We know that all of the security protocols were not followed (during booking) and we're reviewing the situation," said Sheriff Mark Napier.
At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, detectives with the department's Fugitive Investigative Strike Team, community problems, narcotics, special investigations, canine and patrol units located Pizano in a residence in the 6300 block of South Hedgehog Drive, near South Cardinal Avenue and West Valencia Road, Gress said.
Β "There was tremendous cooperation between the Tucson Police Department and our units in the search efforts for this man," Napier said. "TPD helped in a stellar fashion, assisting with air, ground and canine patrols."
Pizano has been re-booked into jail with an added felony charge of second degree escape, and is being held on a $10,750 bond, records show.
The investigation is ongoing.
