A 23-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the east side early Tuesday morning, police said.
Miguel Rodriguez-Romero was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at Banner University Medical Center, Tucson Police said in a news release.
Two children were also in the car at the time of the crash, and were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., Tucson Fire Department and Tucson police responded to a single-vehicle collision on East Golf Links near South Craycroft Road, where they found Rodriguez-Romero and the two child passengers trapped inside the vehicle, the news release said.
Officers and fire crews rendered first aid to Rodriguez-Romero, who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and then pronounced dead.
Traffic detectives were able to determine that Rodriguez-Romero was traveling westbound on Golf Links approaching Craycroft, when he crossed over to eastbound traffic in the intersection and continued to travel in the wrong lanes. His car struck a curb, several large shrubs and tree before it rolled over, the release said.
Detectives continue to investigate if speed or alcohol were a factor.
