The Tucson Police Department will hold presentations about what to do in active shooter situations or violent encounters.

In light of recent terror attacks, the police department felt the need to educate the public, according to a social media post by the department.Β

The first presentation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tucson's west side. A specific location has not been announced.Β

Members of the public who are interested in attending should send an email to tpdpio@tucsonaz.gov with their first and last names, phone number, business and business address.

Class size would be limited because of the size of the room, the post said. Confirmation emails will be sent to those who apply.

Tucson police has not announced future dates yet.Β
