Shaun Snyder

A 22-year-old Sierra Vista man was arrested Monday after fleeing from police following a Saturday domestic violence incident, officials said.

Shaun Snyder was arrested without incident and booked into the Cochise County jail on multiple charges, said Corporal Tim Wachtel, a Sierra Vista Police Department spokesman.

At about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, police went to the 800 block of San Simeon Drive for reports of a domestic violence disturbance. Officers learned that Snyder had struck a family member with a handgun and damaged the house before leaving the scene, Wachtel said.

Several witnesses saw Snyder in backyards in the neighborhood and officers also made "visual contact" with Snyder, but he was able to evade police.

On Monday, police learned that Snyder was staying at a hotel located in the 3000 block of East Fry Boulevard. Officers located Fry and he was arrested in connection with charges of domestic violence aggravated assault, domestic violence criminal damage, prohibited possession of a firearm and domestic violence threatening or intimidating, Wachtel said.

Snyder is being held on a $25,000 bond and a probation hold, stemming from a felony forgery conviction in Cochise County. Snyder was sentenced to probation in the case earlier this month, Wachtel said.
