Info session to focus on military academies

Rep. Martha McSally is inviting local high school students and their parents or guardians to attend Academy Day on Saturday, April 7, to learn about applying to U.S. service academies.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Empire High School auditorium, 10701 E. Mary Ann Cleveland Way.

Representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the University of Arizona R.O.T.C. will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the nomination and application process. McSally will be present to talk with students about her experiences.

Nominations from members of Congress are required for the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination.

For information about requesting a nomination, visit mcsally.house.gov/services/military-academy-nominations or contact Nancy Heiser at (202) 570-6815 or McSally.Academy@mail.house.gov
