A worker was killed and another was injured Thursday in what authorities described as an "industrial accident" on Tucson's northwest side.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. in the area of West Pecos Way and North Thornydale Road, near West Lambert Lane, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

It involved a construction crew.

An electric line was down in the area, but it was not confirmed if that was a factor in the incident.

Traffic in the area is expected to be affected for hours.

Tucson Electric Power said about 1,500 customers in the area lost power for about 30 minutes before it was restored.
