An 80-year-old motorcyclist died days after being in a crash on Tucson's south side, police say.

William Laird Ort, was struck about 3 p.m. July 22, while turning left in a 2018 Cam-Am Spyder, a three-wheeled motorcycle, from eastbound West Ajo Way onto northbound South Sixth Avenue, Tucson police said in a news release.

Ort was hospitalized with what were believed to be injuries that were not life-threatening. However, police were notified July 27 that Ort had died, the release said.

The 36-year-old woman driving the 2018 Jeep Cherokee that struck Ort was not injured. The unidentified driver was cited for failure to stop for a red light, the release said.

Ort had also been cited for failure to yield to traffic while making a left turn, the release said.
