The 18th annual Ward 4 Back to School Bash will be held Saturday, July 14, at the William M. Clements Center, 8155 E. Poinciana Drive.

The free event on Tucson’s east side will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

City Councilwoman Shirley Scott and the Ward 4 office will be offering a free pancake breakfast and will hand out backpacks filled with school supplies to the first 800 K-12 students who attend.

There will be many participants at this year’s event, including the Tucson police and fire departments and Reid Park Zoo.

There will be free bike helmets and booster seats given away, fingerprinting, as well as animals from the zoo.

All free items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will also be raffles of prizes, including family memberships to the zoo, Chromebooks, computer tablets, bikes and other prizes.

Adults can win prizes for donating blood at the American Red Cross Bloodmobile at the event.
