A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon as a rode down the Catalina Highway, authorities say.
Jorge Marcano was driving down the highway to Mount Lemmon about 12:30 p.m. when the rear wheel of the motorcycle began to lose traction, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
"Witness and friends tell deputies, the motorcycle flipped and the rider was ejected and landed on the roadway," the release said.
Marcano, who was wearing a helmet, died at the crash scene.
