A 37-year-old motorcyclist has died days after a crash with a vehicle on the city's east side, Tucson police said Friday in a news release.

Cody Michael Collins was hospitalized with serious injuries from the crash that occurred about 7 a.m. Sept. 21, on East Speedway near North Kolb Road, the release said. Police were notified Friday that he had died.

In the crash, Collins was headed west on Speedway when he collided with a 2014 Cadillac SRX turning left onto Speedway from East Dorado Boulevard, the release said.

Collins, who was not wearing a helmet, struck the driver's side of the Cadillac, the release said.

The driver of the Cadillac, an unidentified 78-year-old woman, was cited for causing a serious injury in a moving violation, the release said.
