A motorcycle and porch were destroyed, and the outside of a mobile home sustained significant damage in a Friday night fire on Tucson's northwest side.

A man and woman have been displaced, after a mobile home fire caused significant damage to their mobile home, officials said.

Fire crews went to a residence in the 5500 block of North Shannon Road, near West Curtis Boulevard, at about 11 p.m. Friday, after multiple 911 calls regarding a porch fire involving a motorcycle, said Trina Motto, a Northwest Fire District spokeswoman.

The man and woman inside of the mobile home were able to evacuate safely and were trying to use a garden hose to put out the fire when crews arrived, Motto said.

Crews were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to the inside of the home, but the porch, motorcycle and outside sustained significant damage. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported by the residents or the 21 firefighters who were on scene, Motto said.

Northwest fire's community assistance team is assisting the residents, due to heavy smoke damage inside of the home, Motto said.
