Winterhaven Festival of Lights

Sightseers stroll past the decorations at the Festival of Lights in Winterhaven in 2016.

The 68th annual Winterhaven Festival of Lights is again collecting donations for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

The festival of lights, in the neighborhood near East Fort Lowell and North Country Club roads, will be held each night through Dec. 26. Visitors can walk through the neighborhood from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There is no entrance fee to walk through the neighborhood, but visitors are asked to bring a nonperishable food item or make a monetary donation to the food bank. People can also donate money at communityfoodbank.org

The food bank said needed items include cereal, peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soups and canned tomato products.

For every $1 donated, the food bank can distribute four meals.

Last year, Winterhaven visitors donated 36,000 pounds of food and more than $21,000.
