A 39-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash last week on the road to Mount Lemmon, authorities said Monday.
The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. July 2, near milepost 7 of General Hitchcock Highway when Mareechi Patel lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and crashed into rocks and vegetation, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
He died on the way to the hospital, the release said.
Patel was traveling south at a high rate of speed when he crashed, investigators said in the release.
