A man was fatally stabbed in a road rage incident that shut down I-10 near Craycroft Road on Wednesday evening.

Louis James Gallardo, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene, Tucson Police said.

On Wednesday, around 4:40 p.m., officers responded to several 911 calls about a stabbing in the area of I-10 and South Craycroft Road. Officers found bystanders performing CPR on Gallardo, who had signs of sharp force trauma, police said.

As the confrontation escalated, Gallardo sustained serious injuries, police said. The other driver, an adult man, remained at the scene and was interviewed by detectives.

There are currently no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
