Local TCC stores will be distributing free backpacks to Tucson students July 22 as part of a national giveaway.
Each store, which is part of Round Room, an authorized Verizon wireless retailer, will have 220 backpacks to distribute from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The backpacks will be filled with school supplies, such as pencils, paper, folders and glue. They will be distrubuted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and one backpack will be given to each child present.
This donation marks TCCโs sixth annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway. Since 2013, TCC has donated 752,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to sudents around the country.
