A police officer was injured this morning following a dispute over a potentially damaged patrol car in Tucson's southwest side, officials said.
A man struck a patrol car with an unknown object on West Ajo Way near South Mission Road on Tuesday morning, said Tucson Police Department spokeswoman, Sgt. Kimberly Bay.
Additional officers arrived at the scene and attempted to talk to the suspect, when a fight broke out between the suspect and two police officers, Bay said.
One officer was injured during the dispute. According to Bay, he had a gash on his leg, but it's unclear if he was stabbed or was cut by debris on the ground, Bay said.
The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was not injured and is in custody, Bay said.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
