First day of school for Vail School District

The Vail School District welcomed back preschoolers through eighth-graders on Monday for the 2017-2018 school year.

Classes will resume at the district’s high schools on Friday.

Other Tucson-area districts will kick off the school year next month starting with Sunnyside on Aug. 2. That will be followed by Tucson’s largest school district, TUSD, and Tanque Verde on Aug. 3.

The first day of school for Marana and Sahuarita school district students will be Aug. 7, while Amphitheater, Catalina Foothills and Flowing Wells start on Aug. 10.
