The Pima County Sheriff’s Department will have a free car seat safety class.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a car-seat safety class that includes a free safety seat.

The class will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 13 in the sheriff’s operations center, 1750 E. Benson Highway.

To sign up, call the sheriff’s community resources unit at 351-4615. Registration is required and class availability is limited.

This program was created to promote and enhance child passenger safety in the county.

At the class, a certified safety technician will provide an appropriate car seat and will assist attendees in the installation of the car seat. Only one car seat per family will be given to attendees.

The funding for this class was made available through grants awarded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
