A fire damages a home on Tucson's south side Nov. 14, 2016. No one was injured in the blaze, said Capt. Barrett Baker of the Tucson Fire Department.

A family of four were displaced by a house fire on the city's south side Monday.

No one was injured in the blaze in the 200 block of West Ohio Street, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson Fire Department spokesman.

At 2:38 p.m., firefighters responded after multiple 911 calls were made reporting the blaze in the neighborhood near South Sixth Avenue, north of West Irvington Road.

Crews found heavy black smoke and flames coming from the rear of a house where a shed was burning and also a patio area, said Baker.

Flames spread to the house's attic, and firefighters battled the blaze as best they could because they were hampered by a downed power line. Crews had to wait for Tucson Electric Power Co. workers to arrive and secure the electricity, Baker said.

Twenty-three firefighters brought the blaze under control in 26 minutes.Β

The family had a place to stay and did not need assistance from the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Initial indications were that the fire started outside of the house, but fire investigators were working to determine the cause, said Baker. A damage estimate was not yet known.
