Tucson residents could see 2024βs first day above 85 degrees on Sunday, an event usually saved until March, the National Weather Service says.
The average first date for this high temperature is generally around March 5, weather service records show. The record high for Sundayβs date, Feb. 25, was 91 in 1921.
But the weather will change early in the week, forecasters say.
There is a 20% to 30% chance of rain showers on Monday and Tuesday. That weather system is expected to bring gusty winds, cooler temperatures and that small chance for precipitation, weather service meteorologists say.
Mondayβs high temperature is expected to be 78 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Highs are expected to drop to around 70 and lows to around 45 degrees through Wednesday.
