A 35-year-old woman was killed and another woman was seriously injured in a head-on crash Thursday on Tucson’s west side, police said.

The crash happened about noon on West Anklam Road near North Greasewood Road when a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Luccia Rose Romeo crossed the eastbound lane of Anklam and struck a westbound 2017 Honda Fit head-on, police said in a news release Friday.

Romeo died at the crash scene.

The unidentified driver of the Honda — a 76-year-old woman — sustained life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe a medical issue might have been a factor in Romeo swerving into oncoming traffic. The investigation continues.
