Marana police are investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins β 14 so far in January β in neighborhoods including Continental Ranch, Continental Reserve and Gladden Farms.
The majority of property stolen were from vehicles that were left unlocked, said Sgt. Chris Warren, a department spokesman.
The increase in vehicle break-ins began in October 2016, and police have made multiple arrests in the thefts, Warren said. Several groups are involved in the break-ins, he said.
Investigators are asking the public to be vigilant and report suspicious activity. Vehicle owners also need to lock their cars and not leave property inside their vehicles, said Warren.
Other tips include being aware of your surroundings, secure your garage door and make sure outside lights are operable, Warren said.
