U.S. Highway 191 has reopened after a grass fire forced its closure at milepost 51 in Cochise County, authorities reported at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 22.

"Fire personnel have the fire under control and although the Highway is open, please use caution due to fire apparatus in the area," said Carol Capas, a spokeswoman for the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, in a news release.

The fire, estimated at 5 acres, was reported about 5 p.m. in the area of the 1200 block of North Beck Road west of Kansas Settlement Road, Capas said earlier.

The highway was closed for a couple of hours.
