The Tucson office of the National Weather Service posted a promising weather forecast on its Facebook page today for anyone looking for a rainy day after a nearly two-month dry spell.

"Confidence is increasing for widespread rain, especially Thursday morning across Southeast Arizona," the post says.

Expect 0.25" to 0.5" of rain in the region's valleys and up to 1 inch of rain in the mountains.

The last measurable rain in Tucson was on Oct. 19.

Bad news for anyone looking for snowy mountain tops. "This will be all rain event, even for the mountain tops," the forecast continues.
