A Tucson man died nearly three weeks after police say he was driving impaired and smashed a motorcycle into a wall.
The unidentified man died Friday in the hospital due to injuries he sustained in the Oct. 15 wreck, the Tucson Police Department said Friday in a news release.
His identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified, officials say.
The man was riding a 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on South Mission Road just before 9 p.m., officials say. As he was going through the intersection with West Silverlake Road, he lost control and ran off the roadway, the release said. He then struck a “small wall on the northeast corner of the intersection,” officials said.
The rider was not wearing a helmet, and he was impaired, the release said.
