Nurse Kim Ohl, with bell, and Dr. David Boswell.

What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”

Last week’s recipient: Kim Ohl.

Nominated by: Dr. David Boswell.

Why: Ohl is a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. In addition to her work as a nurse providing vital, compassionate care, Ohl is also active in raising awareness and money for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, Boswell wrote in his nomination letter. She has organized small events for her co-workers and friends, and has also participated in the past two Susan Komen three-day, 60-mile walks. This year she has already raised almost $3,000 for her walk. “Kim truly embodies and exemplifies intentional kindness and generosity,” wrote Boswell.
