Business awards earned in Southern Arizona

University of Arizona: The University of Arizona earned recognition across several categories in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges ranking.

Its undergraduate program for management information systems rose two spots to No. 3 overall and No. 2 among public universities. On the publication’s annual Best Graduate Schools list, U.S. News ranked the MIS master’s program No. 1 among public universities and No. 3 overall.

In U.S. News & World Report’s Best National Universities ranking, UA tied for No. 115 overall and tied for No. 58 among public universities. The university is No. 14 among all colleges and universities that are designated as Hispanic-Serving Institutions and No. 25 among state flagship universities.

The university placed No. 119 in the Best Value ranking category.

Google ratings of cheap eats: USA Today analyzed Google ratings of 28,000 budget-friendly restaurants across 50 cities to determine the best cheap places to eat in the U.S. Restaurants had to be designated as a one-dollar sign on Google’s cost scale and have 200-plus reviews to be included.

In Tucson, Raptor Canyon Cafe ranked No. 42 in the Top Budget Restaurant in the 50 U.S. cities category.

In the top 25 fast food locations across the country (by average customer Google rating), In-N-Out Burger at 1978 E. Ajo Way ranked No. 23 in the country.

Sahuarita McDonald’s: Gaylei Corona, manager of the McDonald’s restaurant in Sahuarita, has won a Ray Kroc Award, an accolade that recognizes the top-performing McDonald’s restaurant managers globally.

Corona was one of 395 McDonald’s managers from 70 markets around the world to receive the honor, which includes a cash prize, a trophy and a trip to McDonald’s Worldwide Convention in Barcelona, Spain.

Corona is engaged with the community, hosting events and fundraisers for local organizations and schools.
