La Olla Mexican Cafe was honored for its dedication to fresh ingredients, exceptional service and strong community ties.

La Olla Mexican Cafe: La Olla Mexican Cafe, operated by husband-and-wife team Ken and Diane Gallardo, has been named the latest Taste of Marana Standout Restaurant Award winner.

The restaurant, which opened in 2007, earned the honor based on its dedication to fresh ingredients, exceptional service and strong community ties.

Garrett Smith: Garrett Smith, a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Tucson/Sierra Vista has been named to the list of β€œForbes Best-in-State Next-Generation Wealth Advisors.” The list recognizes β€œnext generation” financial advisors who have demonstrated high levels of ethical standards, professionalism and success in the business.

The rankings are based on data provided by more than 29,000 of the nation’s most productive advisors. Smith was chosen based on assets under management, industry experience, regulatory and compliance record and revenue produced for their firm.

Smith is a part of Affirm Wealth Advisors, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC.

Patronato San Xavier: The National Park Service awarded $749,000 to Patronato San Xavier to rehabilitate San Xavier del Bac. Structural and architectural rehabilitation of interior features, as well as the ornate retablo facade at the entrance are planned.

The award was part of $10 million in funding issued from the Semiquincentennial Grant Program, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The funds are reserved for projects that restore and preserve sites and structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places that commemorate the founding of the nation.

This year’s grants will support 19 historic preservation projects across nine states. The San Xavier project was the only one selected in Arizona.
