Business awards earned in Southern Arizona

Start With A Cart: Pam’s Fizzy Factory was named the top winner of Park Place Mall and Local First Arizona’s “Start With A Cart” small business competition.

Coming in second in the inaugural competition was Erixaart, LLC, with The Spice Jam placing third.

Pam Fiske, head of Pam’s Fizzy Factory, will receive a free three-month retail space at Park Place. At the end of the three-month period, Fiske can work with the mall on rental terms if she’d like to keep a presence there.

First, second and third place also received a free membership with Local First.

The winners beat out seven other local finalists: Ducky’s Pineapple Banana Bread, Ate Kei’s Filipino Treats, La Nina Fresa, Luna Scrubs, Kubuli Crafts, Smells Like Dessert Candles, and Pure Lotus Scents.

University of Arizona Eller College of Management: The University of Arizona Eller College of Management and its MBA program have been ranked in multiple categories on U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Business Rankings. High rankings include a No. 1 ranking (public) for Best Information Systems MBA program, as well as a new ranking for Eller’s Business Analytics MBA Program.

Rankings include:

Best full-time MBA programs – No. 50 (tied); No. 26 public (tied)

Best part-time MBA programs – No. 60 (tied); No. 40 public (tied)

Best business analytics MBA programs – No. 36 (new); No. 14 public

Best information systems MBA programs – No. 3; No. 1 public

Tucson Botanical Gardens: Tucson Botanical Gardens has been awarded the Horticultural Landmark Designation by the American Society for Horticultural Science.

Tucson Botanical Gardens has been awarded the Horticultural Landmark Designation by the American Society for Horticultural Science.

The award was designed to commemorate sites of horticultural accomplishments, selected for historical, scientific, environmental and aesthetic value. ASHS Horticultural Landmarks are sites of public appreciation and interest, as well as a source of professional pride for horticulturists worldwide.

The Tucson Botanical Gardens are made up of 17 individual gardens with over 4,000 species available for the public to visit and view every weekday. The gardens also host several events for the public including "Dog Days", to encourage more visitors to the landmark.
