Tucson Federal Credit Union: Tucson Federal Credit Union presented three local nonprofits with a total of $50,000 in honor of the mayor-proclaimed TFCU Day on April 12.
The recipients were The Haven and Sister Jose Women’s Center, each receiving $20,000; and Nourish, which was awarded $10,000.
Mayor Regina Romero first proclaimed the second Friday in April as TFCU Day in 2022.
ReSources Vail Food Bank: ReSources Vail Food Bank is hosting a community food drive through Friday, April 19, sponsored by Hughes Federal Credit Union.
The items most needed include canned beans, canned soup, canned vegetables, children’s snacks, canned meat, peanut butter, rice, pasta and pasta sauce.
Community drop off locations include: Hughes Federal Credit Union — Houghton Town Center, 9036 S. Houghton Road; Civano Chiropractic, 10501 E. Seven Generations Way; Rita Ranch Automotive, 7441 S. Houghton Road; PostNet Rita Ranch, 8110 S. Houghton Road; ApexNetwork PT Vail, 13370 E. Mary Ann Cleveland Way; American Legion Post 109, 15921 S. Houghton Road; Corona de Tucson Fire District, 99 E. Tallahassee Dr.; and Rocking K — HOA, 12620 E. Old Spanish Trail.

Valle Verde Rotary: The Valle Verde Rotary Club of Green Valley awarded $24,200 to nine school music programs. The donation makes up about half of the $48,000-plus raised at Jazz in the Desert 2024, held March 2.
Schools that received funds were Great Expectations Academy, Anza Trail School, Continental School, Sahuarita High School, Sahuarita Middle School, Walden Grove High School, Wade Carpenter Middle School, Rio Rico High School and Nogales High School.
