Rotary Club of Tucson: More than $168,000 was raised for three local nonprofits through the Tucson Classics Car Show, which was held last October and featured 400-plus cars.

Pima Community College Foundation received $80,710 for an education/job training program at the Gospel Rescue Mission’s Center for Opportunity.

The Housing First Project and Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship program were awarded $40,355 each.

More than 175 Rotarians and other members of the Tucson community contributed thousands of volunteer hours to make the Tucson Classics Car Show happen.

Tucson Federal Credit Union: In 2023, Tucson Federal Credit Union gave a total of $258,624 to 155 nonprofit organizations. To date, the credit union has donated $1.8 million dollars to 272 nonprofit partners in Pima County.

Last year, 159 TFCU employees served 88 nonprofit organizations with a total of 2,303 volunteer hours.

Nearly 500 education sessions were also provided to 1,519 participants through the credit union’s Community Impact initiative, which provides financial education and career development tools in partnership with local nonprofit organizations.

UniSource: UniSource Energy Services contributed more than $338,000 and thousands of volunteer hours in 2023 to help about 140 local nonprofit groups support community vitality, education, environmental stewardship and social equity.

Community vitality contributions provided hunger relief, support for veterans, assistance for law enforcement and safety, and events that raised funds for health care and research.

Through education investments, students developed science, technology, education and math skills, received books and technology, and participated in water safety and extracurricular activities.

To promote environmental stewardship, UniSource helped repair and upgrade gardens, trails and outdoor venues.

UniSource also donated nearly $34,000 to efforts that advance social equity, including adult literacy programming, athletic programs for children with disabilities, and a summit by the Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona.

The philanthropic contributions come from corporate resources and are not recovered through customers’ rates. Highlights from Southern Arizona include:

Santa Fe Ranch – $9,000

Santa Cruz Training Programs – $5,000

Rebuilding Together – $5,000

Santa Cruz Council on Aging – $5,000

In addition, UniSource contributed $50,000 to support Wildfire, a statewide nonprofit organization that provides utility bill payment assistance to low-income residents.

Delta Dental: The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation awarded grants to 39 nonprofit organizations. A total of $793,149 was distributed to support projects and services promoting good oral health practices and increasing access to dental care among underserved children, pregnant women, seniors and adults, as well as nutritional access programs such as food banks, after-school and weekend food programs for children, and senior delivery programs.

Community grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000, as well as dental supplies as needed, were presented to 36 Arizona nonprofits. The recipients in Southern Arizona are:

The Impact grant recipient in Southern Arizona was El Rio Health Center’s Pediatric Dental Integration Program to expand direct dental screening, varnish and oral health education during children’s medical well visits by embedding dental hygiene teams in five El Rio Health clinic locations throughout Tucson.
