A record $1.87 million was raised for Tucson charities as part of Jim Click Jr.’s annual Millions for Tucson Raffle.
The funds benefited 331 local charities, who in February accepted a challenge from the automotive dealer to raise at least $1 million in raffle ticket sales. The proceeds of the sales went entirely to support the organizations’ programs.
Click made 100,000 raffle tickets available to Tucson-area charities to be sold for $25 each.
In addition to raising the most in a single year in the history of the raffle, this year saw the largest level of funds raised on a per-charity basis.
Up for grabs were a 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor for first prize; two round-trip, first-class airplane tickets for travel anywhere in the world for second prize; and $5,000 in cash as the third prize.
The winners were:
First prize: Baruch Cohon of Tucson, with a ticket sold by Congregation Beit Simcha
Second prize: Karyn Zoldan of Tucson, with a ticket sold by Cherished Tails
Third prize: Sylvia Bencomo of Green Valley, with a ticket sold by Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers of Green Valley
To date, the 14 raffles sponsored by Click have raised nearly $15 million for local charities.
“It’s such great news that participating charities collectively raised more money than ever in this year’s raffle,” Click said. “The Click family is grateful for our community in the generosity shown to our local nonprofits and for the charities themselves in responding to my challenge in such an impactful way.”
