Urn Ambassadors collect notes to put in the urn during the 2017 All Souls Procession on Tucson's west side on November 5, 2017.

For its 29th year, the All Souls Procession is finally here.

On Sunday evening, an estimated 120,000 people will walk the 1.5-mile procession to honor lost loved ones.

The route will begin on North Grande Avenue, just south of West Speedway.

The procession will proceed just west of the Santa Cruz River and end with a ceremony and performances near the Mercado San Agustín, near West Congress Street.

And because the All Souls Procession is such a large event, it’s important to plan ahead.

For parking, you can try areas near the procession’s starting point, but options are limited. It’s suggested to park downtown or near the University of Arizona instead.

Sun Tran will offer additional bus service from 4 to 7 p.m. and will pick passengers up every 5 to 7 minutes near the Ronstadt Transit Center, 215 E. Congress Street. Passengers will be dropped off close to the procession’s starting point.

And if you need a ride back to the downtown area, there’s a Sun Link streetcar stop near the mercado. The streetcar will run until 10:30 p.m.

And, drivers, beware: The eastbound exit ramp to Congress Street on Interstate 10, in addition to the eastbound frontage road at St. Mary’s Road, will be closed from 4 to 10 p.m. Drivers can use the 22nd Street exit instead.
