Crews gather along Gates Pass Road Thursday night during the rescue of a driver who crashed over the edge of the steep pass, falling some 100 feet, officials say.

A helicopter was used to get a driver to safety Wednesday night after he crashed off of Gates Pass, officials say.

The suffered non-life-threatening injuries after "going off the edge" of West Gates Pass Road about 8:30 p.m. in an SUV, officials say.

The SUV fell about 100 feet off the road, Northwest Fire said on its X account.

The crash is being reviewed for possible charges.
