A verbal fight between two men led to a deadly shooting Wednesday in midtown, Tucson police said.

A Tucson Police Department news release gave the following account:

Officers and fire personnel were called to the 2400 block of North Haskell Drive, near Grant Road and Alvernon Way, around 9 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a shooting that had just occurred.

Two men were located and both had been shot. They were taken to Banner University Medical Center after being treated by paramedics on the scene. Both men had suffered life-threatening injuries.

One of the two, Raymond Murillo, 22, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second man was said to be in critical but stable condition.
