Tucson police arrested a 27-year-old man last week after he allegedly lured a young teen to a park for sex. That 14-year-old girl, however, turned out to be a detective with TPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, the department said in a news release.

“I’m going to jail,” Jesus Nicholas Hoyos says in a video police released of him being greeted by police on May 9, and not the child investigators say he was expecting.

Police body camera footage taken of Jesus Nicholas Hoyos’ arrest shows multiple police officers close in in him as he exits a port-a-potty near a park playground.

Hoyos was arrested on suspicion of attempted sexual conduct with a minor, luring a minor for sexual exploitation and aggravated lying of a minor, police said Friday in a news release.

Police said Hoyos initiated a conversation on May 7 with a detective he believed to be a teen girl. Over the course of two days he spent time detailing specific sex acts he wanted to perform on the girl, as well as sending the undercover detective nude pictures of himself, TPD said.

Police encourages parents and guardians to talk with their kids about the danger of online predators, as well as monitor the social media activity of their kids.
