A 17-year-old was shot and killed during a "verbal confrontation" early Saturday morning at a trailhead on Tucson's west side, police said.
Gunfire was reported about 2:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of West 36th Street, near a trailhead west of South La Cholla Boulevard, Tucson police said Sunday in a news release.
A short time later, a wounded Keven Yanez Acuña was dropped off at St. Mary's Hospital, the release said. Acuña died later.
No details of the shooting had been released Sunday, but police say the shooting appears to have followed an argument between Acuña and a group of people.
