A 46-year-old man was shot to death at a gas station Wednesday night on Tucson’s east side, police say.

Just after 11 p.m. on July 17, officers were called to 7510 E. 22ndΒ Street, near Prudence Road, for a report of a shooting, a Tucson Police Department news release said. There, they found Damian Bryan Quinones with gunshot wounds.

Officers administered life-saving measures, but Quinones died at the scene, the news release said.

Investigators learned that Quinones and the suspect, 24-year-oldΒ Martin Cruz Garcia, got into an argument which turned into a fight inside the gas station. The two stepped outside, where another argument took place.

During the second argument outside, Garcia allegedly took out a gun and shot Quinones, the news release said.

Garcia, who left the scene before officers arrived, was later found at a home near East 22ndΒ Street and South Kolb Road and taken into custody.

Garcia was arrested on suspicion of first degree murder and booked into the Pima County Jail on a $1 million bond.
