The wounded mule deer buck was found Tuesday in Sonoita, where it died, Arizona Game and Fish officials say. The agency is asking for tips in the illegal killing of the animal.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking information about a mule deer buck that was wounded by an arrow and later died near Sonoita.

The wounded buck was found Tuesday near Arizona 82, said Mark Hart, a spokesman for Game and Fish in Tucson. It later died there.

Hart said the deer was was likely wounded elsewhere.

Anyone with information is asked to call 800-352-0700 and reference case number: OGT#24-002178. The maximum penalty for illegal killing of wildlife is up to four months in jail and a $750 fine. Civil penalties may also apply, the agency said.
