STK emergency

The body of a 25-year-old motorcyclist was found at the bottom of a large embankment Saturday on Tucson’s southeast side, authorities say.

About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers found a crashed motorcycle that had been abandoned in the area of East Valencia and South Craycroft roads, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release.

While looking for the rider, police received a 911 call about the whereabouts of Jacob Patrick Egan, who was last seen in the area, the release said.

Egan’s body was then found in a nearby desert area, the release reads.

Investigators determined Egan was driving west on Valencia when he struck the guardrail near Craycroft, was thrown from the motorcycle and fell down the embankment, the release said.

Investigators say Egan was likely speeding. Egan was wearing a helmet and also had the required motorcycle endorsement, the release said.
