Two 20-year-old men were shot and killed early Saturday morning at a trailhead on Tucson's west side, police said.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. at the trailhead in the 3200 block of West 36th Street, west of South La Cholla Boulevard, Tucson police said Sunday in a news release.

Freddie Hudson was found shot and wounded. He died later at the hospital, the release said.

Both men were part of a large gathering at the trailhead. Police say both men were shot during an exchange of gunfire.

The incident is still being investigated.
