STK emergency

A 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after police say he ran a red light and crashed into vehicle on Tucson's south side, police say.

Jesse Roberts II, was traveling west on West Valencia Road when he failed to stop for the red light at South Oak Creek Drive and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Sonic making a left turn, Tucson police said in a news release.

Roberts died later at the hospital.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Roberts may have been speeding when the crash occurred, according to police.

The investigation continues.
