A man injured in a Nov. 3 south-side Tucson collision has died of injuries sustained in the crash, police said Monday.

Police said they were notified Sunday, Nov. 12, that Miguel Angel Machado Fuentes, 68, died.

The Tucson Police Department gave the following account in news releases:

The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the intersection of East Drexel Road and South Nogales Highway.

A black 2017 GMC Yukon was attempting a left turn from southbound Nogales Highway onto eastbound Drexel. A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Fuentes, traveling north on Nogales, hit the GMC. The driver of the GMC was cited for failure to yield.

Now that Fuentes has died, the police Traffic Investigations Unit is reviewing the case. The original civil traffic charge will be dismissed in lieu of possible criminal charges, police said.
