A 21-year-old man is facing charges related to street racing after being chased down by deputies following an intersection 'takeover' south of Tucson, officials say.
Just before 2 a.m. Saturday responded to a reported street racing intersection takeover at South Old Nogales Highway and South Nogales Highway, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday in a news release.
Deputies found a vehicle performing donuts in the intersection and attempted a traffic stop. The driver sped off but was eventually stopped and arrested, the release said.
Jesus Gonzales faces multiple charges, including racing on highways, unlawful flight, endangerment and driving under the influence, the release said.
