A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder following a fatal, multi-vehicleΒ crash Tuesday.

Tucson police said the crash occurred just before noon on South Kino Parkway and East Saint Maria Goretti, near 36th Street.

Leonardo Daniel Cruz was behind the wheel of a southbound Chrysler 300 on Kino Parkway when police say he drove left of the center lane and into oncoming traffic.

Cruz crashed into a Honda Odyssey, driven byΒ Thidavanh Anna Philavanh, who died at the scene, police said.

He also struck a Jeep Wrangler. The driver and passenger of that vehicle were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.Β 

Cruz suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.Β 

PoliceΒ determined CruzΒ was impaired at the time of the crash.Β 

Once released from the hospital he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of felony criminal damage.Β
