TUCSON, Ariz. β Pima County authorities are investigating the discovery of a body.
Oro Valley police responding to a report Thursday afternoon of a body located the remains of an adult male in the area of Shannon Road and Camino Christy.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department took over the investigation since the body was in the agency's jurisdiction.
Deputies say it's not clear how long the body has been there but that it is in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Authorities did not say if the man appeared to be a victim of a homicide.
The body was released to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner to determine an official cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
